Bob Fickes ~ Small Acts of Compassion

Even a small act of Compassion generates positive energy inside of us. Compassion starts with a movement of love in our heart and then expands as it reaches out to touch another soul. This small act may be just sharing simple words of support for another human being. Sometimes even our simple words of kindness can change someone’s life.
Buddha and the Master Jesus both shared compassion with everyone they met. They knew that acts of Compassion magnify our Spiritual Energy and increase the flow of love in our personal life. When this energy accumulates through repeated acts of Compassion, a shield of Light forms around us to protect us. This is called a Kavach. The light not only protects us from negative energy, but also brings more support from the universe.

Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as your self.” As we do good to others, the good we do is reflected back to us. It creates a cycle of goodness that follows us everywhere we go and in everything we do. Support from the universe is the direct result of what we do. When our life encounters resistance and negativity, do a small act of Compassion and watch how your life begins to change. Even one candle can illuminate the darkness. One act of goodness multiplies the good that comes to us and the darkness of despair disappears.
The Dalai Lama has said many times, “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. The purpose of our lives is to be happy.” Acts of Compassion are the highest form of virtue that can reward us with happiness.
